Bone Dysplasia Clinic

Dr Zankl has genetic clinics at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Mater Children's Hospital in Brisbane. He also has occasional clinics at the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Rockhampton. A multidisciplinary bone dysplasia clinic is held once a month in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons (Dr Walsh, Dr Askin, Dr Labrom, Dr Licina) at the Mater Children's Hospital. All appointments are bulk-billed (fully covered by Medicare), so there are no out of pocket expenses to patients.

How to refer a patient

Patients with known or suspected bone dysplasias can be referred by their GP or specialist. Ideally, referrals should include:

  • a short clinical summary
  • copies of growth charts
  • copies of relevant information from patient's medical record
  • reports of xrays, CTs, MRIs and the location of the original images (in case we need to review the original images)

Referrals can be sent by mail, fax or email to:
